Our community belongs to the following Brahmin Gotras: Kashyapa, Bharadwaj, Shandilya, Rishi, Brahmachari, Gaurhar and Chaurasia. Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia ( bansuri player) and Vijay Chaurasia (international golfer) are from our community. It is not uncommon for many of us to refer to ourselves as 'Vaishyas'.
